Description
This is a traditional Rajasthani saree known for its vibrant, wavy stripe patterns that resemble flowing waves—“leher” meaning wave in Hindi. Created using a tie-and-dye technique, the fabric is tightly rolled and dyed in stages to produce colorful, diagonal or zigzag patterns.
Typically made from lightweight materials like georgette, chiffon, silk, or cotton, Lehariya sarees are especially popular during festive seasons like Teej and Raksha Bandhan. They are often adorned with zari borders, gotapatti work, or mirror embellishments, adding a festive and regal charm.
Lehariya sarees are loved for their breezy drape, bold colors, and cultural significance. Bright hues like red, yellow, green, and blue dominate the palette, making them ideal for daytime celebrations or summer wear. Elegant yet playful, a Lehariya saree offers a beautiful blend of heritage and style, perfect for those who appreciate traditional Indian craftsmanship.
